I think Berlin was made especially for people like me, an Angeleno who hates having to spend two hours of every single day driving through the worst traffic with the worst tempers in the world. I thought I would miss driving, but having to do it today was just extremely exhausting and unpleasant. I can't believe I have to live like this. #firstworldproblems, I know. But Berlin made me walk more than I ever have in my life and for the first time in a long while, I was not out of breath. If only my city was as kind to me.
This trip gave me the opportunity to reunite with my two Spanish friends Melissa and Nathassha. I ended up spending three days with Nat in her beautiful flat in Mitte and she even made me arepas for breakfast one morning. It's so hard to believe we haven't seen each other in six years because we had such a blast together and my love for this woman is forever cemented in my heart. I realized that most of my girl friends are strong, independent women doing incredible things in many parts of the world and this thought made me happy.
Nat and I especially get along well because we're quite similar in terms of how we like to spend our time. We spent a day at the Botanical Garden drooling over the most beautiful plants and taking pictures of each other. Also, we both love to eat so we spent three days eating pretty much everything. We're so in sync sometimes, even as we're getting tired, that it's funny.
