Day at The Getty

Well, I sure write a lot about art museums. There's that entry about LACMA and that other one about the Singapore Art Museum. My next trip will probably be a long time from now so don't worry about another boring museum entry happening anytime soon.

The Getty was breathtaking beginning from that tram ride up! I enjoyed the pieces so much because I really, really love the Rococo era. Some were ones I've admired online like Jean-Étienne Liotard's "Portrait of Maria Frederike van Reede-Athlone at Seven Years of Age". I never thought I'd see the real thing ever. There was also an excellent photo series called "I See What You're Saying" by Eileen Cowin. I wasn't allowed to take photos there, but it's better if you see the series for yourself anyway.

If it weren't for it being too far away from my apartment, The Getty could've been a really awesome hangout place with its vast open areas and excellent views of the city. I wish we had at least one really beautiful museum here in Manila that kids would actually visit voluntarily. PNoy, hello? Wouldn't you like that as well? Ugh.
